Q: Why doesn’t my iPad app have any sound?
A: Some people have reported sound issues. The problem is either that your iPad needs a reboot, or it is with your iPad settings. To reboot, hold down the on/off and the home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo.
If that doesn’t fix the problem:
By Apple’s design, while game apps don’t have sound when your iPad is muted, movies, TV shows, music, and other similar items will have sound.
For iPad models with a side switch (just above your volume controls), make sure your side switch is not locked. Check out Apple’s Side Switch article. If that doesn’t work, the sound can also be muted in the Control Center. Keep reading the next paragraphs to learn about the Control Center.
For models without a side switch (like iPad Air 2), you will need to swipe up from the bottom of the screen to reveal the Control Center. If your iPad is muted, you will see a diagonal line through the bell icon. Tap the bell icon to unmute your device. Check out Apple’s information on Mute.
If you are still having problems, you can take your iPad to the Apple store for help.

Q: Why can’t I log in to see my e-storybook subscriptions?
A: There are several possible reasons:
- Try typing your password again. Don’t copy and paste, which can add extra characters.
- Try resetting your password by clicking on the forgot password link.
- Test for a cookie problem. If you are on
- Firefox: try opening a “Private Browsing Window” and log into the site.
- Chrome: try opening a “New Incognito Window” by going to the File menu.? It’s directly under “New Window.” Then, try logging into the site.
- If you could log in either with Firefox or Chrome from Step 3, then you will need to clear your cookies.
- Firefox: Here’s how to fix Firefox’s cookie problems.
- Chrome: After trying the incognito window on Chrome, in a regular browser window:
- type chrome://settings/cookies in the URL
- type “analomba” in the search box to restrict the results to analomba cookies
- click the Remove all button

Hi Ana,
This is Avinash and I would like to know the following:
My wife is interested in one of your products and we are planning to get that by paying online for a digital download. Our question is that, how many times could we get to download the same with a single purchase? (i.e., if we buy the same for a digital download for our iPad, then could we download the same to another device)?
Thanks for answering this at your earliest convenience. Appreciate your time and effort.
Regards,
Avinash & Aswini

This app does not work with iOS 11. Any plans to update? I would hate to lose my Chinese/English story.
Ana Lomba says
Hi Cindy,
We recently created a new “Magic Worlds” library app with all the stories. The Little Red Hen continues to be free in all the language combinations. You can find the new library app here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/magic-worlds-bilingual-practice-for-young-kids/id1123947962?mt=8 You’ll be able to open the Red Hen right away from the library. Thanks, Ana

I want to purchase the storybooks with accompanying CDs. I’m having trouble getting the Spanish ones from the online bookstores. Can I purchase them (French and Spanish) through your site?
Huijie says
After my son completes reading all the E-story books, will you have new books for next month? So far he enjoys reading the books both in English and Spanish. So I subscribed the French E-storybook too.
Jimmy says
Why don’t I have sound/narration with my purchase? I am using an ipad mini.
Sue says
Please explain how one would “subscribe” on a Kindle Fire? I did a search for Ana Lomba on audiobooks and there were no results.
Nh says
I have the ana lomba apps for ipad2. The sound has stooped working on all the apps I downloaded. The apps used to work. The sound on my iPad works on all apps except for the Ana lomba ones please advise.
Ana Lomba says
Madelin, can you explain a little bit more? I’m trying to understand what happened. So they used to work and all of a sudden they do not?
BTW, a few months ago someone wrote with a similar problem (i.e. he could hear other apps but not mine) and it turned out to be a button on the iPad itself that was not turned on. This is what this customer said:
Mornin’ Ana:
Happy to report success….at long last. The local Greenwich, CT Apple store found the problem in about five minutes. At the bottom of the screen
showing all the icons of the programs, there is a sliding bar that adjusts sound and mute…separately. In my case the mute button had been pushed, probably
accidentally, and would not let sound be heard for your apps. Strangely though, sound did come through for other apps. Also, he suggested that I
update the operating system which I will do this afternoon. Anyway…alls well that ends well….and I look forward to improving my Spanish with your
excellent apps.
Let me know if you see anything like that on your iPad.
Best,
Ana
J esquivel says
Same problem. All other apps have sound except the two I downloaded from you. Quite disappointing since the audio is what I wanted for my listening skills. Did I waste my $$$?
Ana Lomba says
Sorry for the problem with the audio. Someone had the same issue a while ago and it turned out to be something that was turned off on the iPad device. For some reason it affected my apps and not others, but once he switched it, he could hear them perfectly. Unfortunately I can’t find that e-mail to see what he did. It was two years ago.

Hi Ana,
If I purchase the 4 unit package, one for each age group, do I get to choose the unit among the six for each group that I’d like to buy? Or do you decide which unit per group to sell?
Thanks

Martha McCluskey says
I just purchased Play and Learn French (book plus CD). Looks great, but I cannot figure out how to access the songs on the audio CD. The only tracks that show up when I play it on computer or audio player are the spoken portions. It says to go to the mp3 file for the songs, but how can I access this?
Ana Lomba says
Hi Martha,
Please try this: insert the CD on your computer
but do not open
iTunes or any music player. Instead, open the CD file directly and then drag the mp3s manually to iTunes or your player. If this is too complicated or if you cannot see the mp3s, please write to me at ana@analomba.com and I will send them to you via e-mail. BTW, the reason why McGraw-Hill decided to use this method is because there were too many tracks on the CD and this way they could fit everything. So it is for a good reason – much more content 🙂
Best,
Ana

Hi, all I want to say is thanks. I’ve bguhot all the apps from Apple Store of ana lomba. And I just like them so much and these are among the best for my eight years old daughter. Thanks a lot for the great works. She spent lot of time on these stories and her favourote figure is the mouse in the Red Chichen. She just loves that. And she has learnt many words from these stories of the English and Spanish. By hte way, I’m from China.Simply one question, when would it be Possible for us to be able to see some new books from you? From Apple app store? Thanks and have a good time.HG Xiao
Lilliana says
Just another PLEA for your stories on the iPhone. I just can’t justify buying an iPad so my 4 yr old can use it as a learning toy. My phone however is a work tool for me and can be a learning tool for her. It would be AMAZING if you could make these available on the iPhone.
What about on a Kindle Fire? Can I use the subcription like I would from my laptop?
Ana Lomba says
Hi Lilliana,
Thank you very much for your interest in my products. Believe me, I would LOVE to make the stories available for the different platforms, but producing these type of stories with translations, copy editors, native actresses’ voices, illustrations, programming, etc is very expensive and then adapting them to the different devices adds up. Also, it is hard to find the best way to promote them (at least I haven’t figured this out yet), but I will keep learning and trying. As for the Kindle Fire, yes, you can subscribe and see the stories. It is not ideal as you have to scroll up and down and side to side to see them (not much), but you can hear them perfectly well. Maybe there’s a way to zoom them down, but I have not tried that.

Hi Ana,In the next couple of mnhtos I will be working to open my own Spanish immersion daycare center and I am looking for a curriculum that best fits my needs. I want to start with infants through 4 years old and would like any suggestions you would have. I don’t have a teaching background and need some assistance in developing a curriculum. What would you recommend? I want to offer something that is structure and something that I could learn as well to be able to teach my teachers. I worked previously at a daycare center; however, I never saw anything regarding a curriculum of having any type of structure. That is why I am looking for something that will give me that and more. Please help!
Ana Lomba says
Hi Liliana,
I would recommend getting the Spanish for Preschoolers E-Guide (www.spanishforpreschoolers.com). The guide will provide useful information to guide you as you start writing your curriculum.
Also, I will soon start selling a Three Little Pigs unit at http://spanishlessonplansnow.com/ (as you will see, it is not ready for sale just yet, but it will be within the next week or two). Of course, getting the unit is a bigger investment, so you may want to start with the guide and practice writing your own unit first.
All the best,
AL

My daughter and I have enjoyed reading your stories on my ipad. Is it possible to download the stories on my iphone as well?
Ana Lomba says
Unfortunately, the stories are not available for the iPhone. Each platform has different requirements and I am debating what way to go with this ocean of applications 🙂
Karla says
Hello, I downloaded the Little Red Hen story for my iPad 2. Will you be offering other stories in that format? It is a very good way to study french.
I noticed you offer a subscription service. Would I be able to download them to my iPad? Also, would you retain the books after the subscription ended? also, can you skip certain books? We don’t like stories with witches. Thanks!
Ana Lomba says
Karla, I am glad to hear you are enjoying the Red Hen. The stories included in the online subscription are also available as iPad applications. Just click on the “App Store” icon on your iPad and look for “Ana Lomba” to see all the apps. Make sure you choose the right language combination.
You cannot use the subscription on the iPad – I had to create two different sets because the iPad has specific requirements. Different platforms different requirements (not fun for us who publish content, grrr!).
As for stories of witches, the subscription includes all the stories and you can decide which to open and which not. Be aware though that there is also the Big Bad Wolf, ogresses, genies and magicians, etc. As for the apps, you buy them separately. The subscription does not allow for the download of the stories, sorry! However, you can stop the subscription at any point. It’s just $7 a month and I will add more stories in the coming months.
