The Mpressarias Curriculum is a set of products designed specifically to help mom entrepreneurs start your own language immersion program for children. There’s no other program out there designed specifically for this purpose!
First Things First: What is an Mpressaria?
Mpressaria stands for Mom/Empress/Entrepreneur!
Over the years we discovered that many of our clients are moms who are thinking about starting their own language program. Many of them have used our books, apps, and CDs with their own children, and they are now intrigued by the possibility of using our products to teach in local schools — or even to open their own language school!
To help these moms achieve their goals we’ve created the Mpressarias Curriculum, which contains everything you need to get started as a language entrepreneur!
Elements of the Mpressarias Curriculum
Curriculum Sets
The basic building block of the Mpressarias Curriculum is the Curriculum Set. Each curriculum set is built around a storybook or theme, such as The Little Red Hen or Cinderella. Each set includes a Lesson Plan Unit with 12 expandable lesson plans, which you can use for hour-long classes or longer camp sessions, or break up into smaller classes as necessary. It also includes ToonFlips©, story illustrations and other materials.

Supplemental Products
The curriculum integrates supplemental products such as CDs, books and apps. These are to be purchased separately.
When a supplemental product is recommended, this is clearly indicated in the Curriculum Set.
You can recommend these supplemental products to your students’ parents, so that the learning continues beyond the classroom.
Why Having a Curriculum Is Crucial to Your Success
One of the first things new language teachers and entrepreneurs learn (usually the hard way) is that there is no language immersion program without a curriculum.
You simply cannot go session after session teaching isolated vocabulary words and beating a piñata. You will quickly struggle, your students will get bored, and customers will not return. Didn’t you promise language immersion?
One of the biggest mistakes you can make is try to write your own curriculum.
Creating your own curriculum is very difficult and it will consume a lot of your valuable time. If all or most of your time is spent writing curricula, it will be very hard to scale up your business and make any profits.
If your goal is to start a business, then you should think like a businesswoman and create a program that can operate with or without you being there. This is how you will gain the freedom and flexibility necessary to balance family with a thriving business.
The other reality is that not everyone is good at writing curriculum. It needs to be effective, based on sound educational theory, have lots of flexibility and variety, and most of all — be fun and exciting for young children! It can take years of research and trial and error to develop curricula that meet all of these requirements – and that is if you are the one in front of the class. Writing curriculum for others to teach will present many additional challenges.
The good news is, we can give you a head start. I’ve put all of my years of intense research and experience into the Mpressarias Curriculum — so that you can start right away knowing that you have a blueprint for success. All you need to do is follow it!
Benefits of Our System of Products
1. It’s Affordable to Get Started
- You don’t need to purchase a franchise and pay a hefty royalty.
- AND you don’t need to spend tons of thousands of dollars writing your own curriculum.
People think that writing your own curriculum is the cheap way to go, but it is NOT. It is actually the most expensive way to go.
If you write your own curriculum, chances are that you will stay in the red for many years to come. That’s how expensive it is to write curriculum! (Think about all the knowledge you’ll have to accumulate, the workshops you’ll attend, the materials you’ll purchase not knowing if they’ll really “work,” and the time, perhaps years, you’ll invest in the process!)
With the Mpressarias Curriculum, each curriculum set is licensed individually, which means that:
- You can test the waters with a small investment and see if this is for you.
- You can grow at your own speed — just license more sets when you are ready.
- You can begin in the black and not the red (as long as you charge appropriately and keep a healty budget).
2. It’s Easy to Grow Your Program Successfully
We believe in starting small, testing, and growing quickly. That’s why we build our products to be modular and scalable.
To get started, you can simply try a free app with your children at home. If you like it and want to start teaching other students, license one Curriculum Set packet and use it to teach a homeschooling group or playgroup class. Or you can teach a Spanish immersion summer camp or an after-school session.
Then you can license additional set and expand to other classes, or even open a full-blown language school. The sky is the limit!
The best part is that growing in phases allows you to practice and improve before advancing to the next step. It is always better to focus on perfecting your small project and make a profit, before expanding.
Since each product contains teaching instructions, you can also use them as training guides to grow your program. This means you can hire other teachers, freeing your time to focus on expanding and marketing your program. You can add more languages, or expand to more age groups.
If you do it well, your investment could easily pay off many times over in profits!
3. Our Products Are Part of a System of Teaching — So They All Work Together
Once you have tried any of our products, say a book or a CD, you will have a sense of how all of the other products work.
That’s because every product in the system is based off the Ana Lomba’s Easy Immersion® approach (see below).
This makes it very easy to navigate our system and transition between products, from the supplemental products to the curriculum sets.
You won’t need to spend hours and hours searching for teaching materials, and then trying to make them all fit together in a coherent lesson plan. We’ve done it all for you!
4. Ana Lomba’s Easy Immersion Approach Is Based on How Children Really Learn Languages
The simple fact is that “flashcard” learning — teaching isolated vocabulary words — is not an effective way to teach languages to children. Children will only learn language if you put it into context for them, in terms that they understand.
So our products include activities for all sorts of real-life situations: playing in the park, visiting Grandma and Grandpa, singing songs, going to the zoo, to the beach, making snowmen, putting gas in the car, etc.
Also, children learn language best when they playfully develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills at the same time. The Mpressarias Curriculum uses interactive pretend play, storytelling, and easy early skill development activities to put to work all four of the language skills in combination.
When children learn “whole language” and not just isolated vocabulary, they are better able to remember and use the words that they have learned. This is the key to successful language immersion.
